Too Many Rejection Letters | https://nickpassey.com Too Many Rejection Letters | https://nickpassey.com

Here is an email and response I wrote last year. I look back at it when feeling discouraged.

The initial letter:

Dear Nick,
Thank you for your interest in performing at Summerfest Arts Faire 2013. Unfortunately we will not be able to use Folk Hogan this year. We had 48 talented musical acts request to play at this year’s event and only have 15 performance times available. Hopefully you will apply again next year. Press Kits and a formal application will be due on February 1, 2014 and we wish you the best in all your performing this year!

Best,

Summerfest Arts Faire
Logan, UT 84321

My Response:

Debbie,

Thank you for your letter of rejection. After careful consideration, I regret to inform you that I am unable to accept your refusal to offer folk hogan a spot performing at Summerfest Arts Faire 2013.

This year, I have been particularly fortunate in receiving an unusually large number of rejection letters. With such a varied and promising variety of festivals, it is a very busy season and it is impossible for me to accept all the refusals.

Despite your outstanding qualifications and previous festival experience in rejecting applicants, I find that your rejection does not meet with my needs at this time.

I look forward to attending the festival in either case, thanks for your consideration.

Sincerely,

-Nick Passey
